Horizon analysis

Horizon analysis is a method used to measure the discounted cash flow or time adjusted return of an invesment. The primary difference is that in horizon analysis the time period can differ from the investment's contractual obligations. Horizon analysis calculations should include any reinvestment assumptions which will help allow comparisons with alternate investment vehicles. The intent of horizon analysis is to provide a more realistic comparison than traditional yield to maturity calculations.
