Uncovered call

An uncovered call is a short call option position where the writer does not own the underlying shares represented by the option contract. If the buyer of the call decides to exercise their option rights, then the writer would be forced buy the shares at the current market price to fulfill the options contract. An uncovered call is also known as a "naked call" and is considered a dangerous strategy with a very high risk potential.
