Overview
Whether your
preferred indicators are oscillators, bands,
moving averages, etc. it's hard to ensure
that the volume is trending up. A quick
way to reduce your results and ensure positive
volume growth is through the use of volume
ratios. This method is one of the most popular
requests on our help line so in this newsletter
we will cover the basics of adding a volume
ratio to your screen so you can get the
screen results you want.
The example
In this example
the trader is encouraged to replace our
1 indicator signal with their screening
system. The addition of the volume ratio
is the main point of this example.
The additional
advantage to adding a volume ratio is that
this will give you a condition that can
be sorted and categorized (as well as ensuring
a larger than average volume). Although
in this example we have sorted by the technical
signal it is well worth your time to sort
by the volume ratio. This will provide you
with a list starting from the highest volume
difference (the difference between last
close and an average) to the lowest.
In this screen we used the following conditions:
Exchange:
NYSE_L1
Conditions:
Last close greater than or equal to 1$
Keltner channel breaches outerband within
the last 2 trading days
vRatio50 greater than or equal to 1.
Sorted by technical signal.
