The chart (2 months ago)
Every indicator will show
a weakening of the trend, one might even
say that the trend is done. But to show
the impact of these indicators and our trading
decisions we should look back at Newsletter
#44. Specifically the chart.
Note: This chart was captured
on 4/27/07.
"In short, the application
of these indicators in the above example
has demonstrated that the uptrend is not
over yet. (no sell signals) It is still
far into the trend, as seen by all the indicators
(hold, too late for a buy) and currently
there are no clear signs of an impending
trend reversal."
And now to today...
The chart (today)
It is important
to note that had we followed our indicators
the out (sell signal) was around 6/01/07-
6/10/07 (trendline break, stochs sell, down
through extreme for ultimate, confirmations
by money flow. Not shown are that also MACD
& MA's and Bollinger also triggered
sells).
The indicators applied today
have a clearly different picture than a
couple months ago. The up trend is clearly
over and now the question is whether this
is a correction or a new downtrend emerging.
Either way for the technical trader what
we are really looking for is our new buy
signal.
Patience and confidence in
these indicators has rewarded us in these
last two charts and while we wait for the
new buy signal our patience will once again
be rewarded.
It is important to note that
this type of swing trading (as shown in
this newsletter and newsletter
#44) works best with very high volume
issues like indices or giant cap stocks
(ie: companies that will not disappear anytime
soon). You will also find that for the most
part you will be in cash so have a few on
your watchlists to keep that money working.
